Process for Installing Google Analytics on a Website

Information required to complete this procedure

You will need a Google Account to sign up for Google Analytics. If you don't have an account, go here to sign up for one: https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount.

Steps:

  2. Click on the sign up button.

    Note: We are assuming you already have a Google Account. If you don’t the just follow Google’s instructions for getting one first.

  3. Fill in your website’s URL. Assign an Account Name ( this is what will appear in your Google Analytics Reports). Select your zone country and the time zone. Click on continue.

  4. It will now lead you to your Contact Information page. Fill in the last name, first name, and country. Click continue.

  5. Read and check on the box under Yes, I agree to the above terms and conditions. Then click on Create New Account

  6. The next page will contain your analytics code. Copy the code found on the box and paste it onto every page you want to track. Place the code immediately before the closing </head> tag.

    Google Analytics will only track pages that contain this code, so be sure to put it on every page of your website. If you do not know how to work with website html, pass these instructions on to your web person.


  7. Once you install and save your tracking code for your pages, you’re done. Allow up to 24 hours for data to appear in your account.
